someone's thrown me a hand full of Maxtor external firewire drives
that have had the hard disk fail in them so that I can open them up
and replace the hard drives...
should be easy I thought - couple of screws and done ... but no they
seem to be sealed - there is a black plastic "band" that runs along
both sides keeping the case together but when I try gently levier it
off it doesn't give at all...
any one know the fine art of cracking one of these open?
