We had speaker feedback too, on calls to Sydney, we found that the
speakers (at both ends?) could be tuned down slightly to stop the feedback.
I was impressed by how well Skype handled this particular issue.
It may help if there is not line-of-sight between speaker and mic as
this makes it much worse I think.
Headsets are the ultimate but they don't beat just sitting back and
chatting.
