I have had a beige G3 resting in a storeroom for a few months. Today I decided to crank it up and ready it for a friend. Dead! Not a click...nothin!

I checked the battery...3,6v...good. I reset the cuda...still nothing. Re-seated the RAM...still nothing. I tried removing individual sticks of RAM...nothing.

Is this the same problem with the 9 LC 575s we installed in Bali?? They wouldn't start after being in a storeroom for a year or so. I think I have read that LC575s will not start with a dead battery???

Any ideas from the list?

TIA

Hi Kev,

You mention the power supply in your subject. Can you also safely test it's output as you have done the battery's?

Often when I need to re-seat RAM, cards or even Nintendo64 games it can require lots of 'inning and outing' to clean the contacts enough for proper functioning to return. I recently did this over the phone with a very nervous and desperate client who I got to re-seat everything, which didn't work, then redo the RAM a few more times and 'hey presto'. She was *very* happy.

Off the subject but still discussing corroded electricals; does anybody know of something that could be used to dehumidify a car? Nothing corroded, yet, but the Ford dealer said that lens condensation can be the cause of disks not reading and that I should not leave disks in the player.

Good luck
Paul
