The next meeting of WAMUG (4 March 2008) will be the 2008 Annual
General Meeting, when the current Committee will stand down and
nominations for new committee members will be sought.
Please be aware that Matt Healey has announced his intention NOT to re-
nominate for President and will therefore stand down.
It is very important for the continuation of WAMUG as an incorporated
body that the role of President be filled, which is also true of the
positions of Treasurer and Secretary.
If you have been thinking for some time that WAMUG needs some new
blood at the top, or that you have something to offer by way of new
ideas, or just want to become more involved, please consider
nominating for position on the Committee.
I'll take this opportunity to thank Matt very much for all his time
and effort over the past ten (!) years. He was single-handedly
responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the XServe that
has been hosting our mailing list (and web site, albeit a languishing
one - he has to eat as well after all) and has happily lead the way
with most of the demos and fielded many of the more challenging
questions at the Q&A sessions.
I'm sure his efforts have been greatly appreciated by all, and I think
we can all agree that he has well and truly served his time. Please
consider nominating either yourself or another member in time for next
Tuesday's meeting so we can continue to move forward.
I will continue to post abridged versions of this message until the
day of the AGM.
