Would it be possible to combine a Folder Action with some Automator scripting, to do something along these lines?
I've got a Folder Action that detects when a PDF scan arrives and automatically loads Acrobat and runs OCR on it, then saves it out. I wonder whether a similar task could be achieved with a received fax? This solution would obviously not be cross platform though.
