Are you using the Epson R230 Printer Driver Settings?
When you go to Print, Under Print Settings, there is Media Type for
the paper you are going to print on (Photo Paper, Glossy Photo
paper etc).
You can use Mode: Automatic, custom, or Advanced Settings & set the
highest quality for the printer/Media combination that you require.
Under Print Settings - Color Management: do you have either 'Color
Controls' or 'Color Sync' set?
