Dear All,

I just had to throw in the bin a back-up hard drive. Took it to
Winthrop at UWA and they said it could cost $hundreds to remove th HD
and try recovery.

Are there any recommendations? I have really no need of Terabyte
sizing and 200GB max would be fine.

Not all of it surely ? Can't you open the enclosure and remove the
actual hard drive ?

Then , what sort of drive ? PATA or SATA ?

IT would cost you a lot less than buying the whole unit

Dunno SATA or PATA Bob.

Seagate mfr and was completely stuffed - a non starter- non spinning disk making a lot of noise. Been there and done it before years ago with no good outcome.

So whats the recommend for a new one?
