This is only a trial site but it was easy to set up and maintain. It
links to my old iWeb site - unable to update it because the original
folder is on a failed PowerBook hard drice (backupbackupbackup Reg!)

I'll second that. I've converted to Sandvox pretty much full time. I
don't have the time or the money to continue with Adobe products.
The nice thing about Sandvox vs iWeb is that Sandvox produces nice
clean code that can be edited with Dreamweaver if you want to.
SV has its limitations, but these can generally be overcome with a
little lateral thinking.
