Just bear in mind that article is written by Nick Minchin, a Liberal
senator, so perhaps we should read his outrage with a bit of a pinch
of salt considering potential political bias and seek some
clarification from other sources before we get too hot under the
collar ourselves!

That said, I do absolutely hate overhead lines but have to admit to
being more aghast that in this day and age all those powerlines strung
down our streets are actually bare wires without any sort of
insulation making them far more dangerous and prone to damage and
outages than nicely shielded broadband cables. How many power
blackouts (and lives) would we save if more of them were underground I
wonder.

Here's hoping all the suburban ones at least get put underground
sooner than later (or at least get a nice coating of PVC for goodness
sake! :-)

Lol,..too funny. Always changing things to suit themselves.
Doesn't really bear thinking about,....
You have to wonder as well, what sort of security that would have.
Surely it
would be easier for someone to "Tap into" if it's overhead, rather
then
underground. I could be wrong of course...
Tap a little box onto and drain all the secrets :o) hehe.
Sigh. You'd think they could seriously just look overseas and see what
everyone else with "super fast" broadband is doing. Get some ideas
from that
and then build on it to make it better! :o)
But then maybe that's too hard...
Kind Regards
