I thought I would try... I have a soft spot for the PowerMac 5500 and
still have a black Directors Edition.
After some research, it's the Sonnet Crescendo L2 G3 card I require
rather than the Nubus or PCI variant.
Would be the type found in a Performa or PowerMac 4400, 5400/5500,
6200/6300, 6400/6500 or a Twentieth Anniversary Mac.
Indeed Bob, a rare animal by the looks, even on ebay!

For that Mac it looks like you need a Sonnett Crescebdo/Nubus G3
card for 6500
Cannot tell about the 5500
