Thanks for this information Ronni and also John
I had tried something similar a few days ago, but obviously it is not
going to be as easy as just copying/exporting my existing slideshow(s)
onto a disc.
I tried doing the steps only as John suggested, but nothing
transferred onto the disc (I really suspected this would be the case
but worth a try for a shortcut).
So I had been taken into another step/program for further editing etc
when I was hoping that that was all I had to do.
Later, maybe not today, I will follow Ronni's steps and will let you
all know when I have success.
Obviously I need to make the time to learn more about iDVD/QuickTime.
I am so looking forward to the finished product!
Have a good day,
Peta

Hi Peta,
A couple of tips. You can create great slideshows in iDVD, but
seeing as you have already created your Slideshows in iPhoto,
you can as John suggests "Send to iDVD" & create a DVD of your
slideshows.
Landscape photos work better than portrait photos, which have large
black borders.
iPhoto sends saved slideshows to iDVD as QuickTime movies, which you
can’t edit inside iDVD.
Remember to choose the 4:3 format for your slideshow!
Use iDVD’s Preview heavily, and run through all your slideshows from
start to end before burning.
Make sure "Always Scale Slides to TV Safe Area" is set in iDVD’s
Slideshow preferences pane (choose Preferences from the iDVD menu
and click the
Slideshow button).
Cheers,
Ronni

Subject: copy slide shows to DVD or USB
Hi
In the days before I acquired my AppleMac, I had quite a few
different
slide-show projects on my PC using PowerPoint.
I have these copied onto my Mac and have done some work on them
using
the package I bought with my Mac - (very much a project for when
time
allows). So all of these slideshows consisting of a great amount
of
time and effort have been put aside for now.
However, since I have had my Mac, I have become used to quickly
making
great slideshows with very little effort using iPhoto. These
slideshows are really quite good, and of course there are several
options to use as to which format to view the photos in, the
length of
time for each picture, and also which music to add and so on -
really
simple and really quite effective.
It suddenly occurred to me - is there a way that I can save these
"quick" slideshows onto a disc and play and view them using a DVD
player direct to the television, (or another computer), or to give
someone a disc of e.g. a child's birthday party?
Hopefully this will be possible.
