Hi, iinet supply the modem which is VOIP compatible and set up for iinet. I have this set up and don't actually get a dial tone.

When I make calls I usually make sure I have a line, wait a second or two, then dial the number. This gives the VOIP a chance to connect.

Do you have the glowing light on your modem which says that your VOIP access is live?

I gather your internet is actually working OK, its just that you can't make voice calls?

If this is the case, and you got your modem from iinet with all the set up included, then its nothing to do with your computer operating system.

Maybe the modem is faulty.

cheers, Susan.

Have switched to iinet (May) Naked DSL and untill two weeks ago things were fine now - second modem and latest iMac with Snow Leopard cannot get any phone line from NetComm NB9WMAXX Modem. Reset so many times reinstalled and still no calls in No calls out just dial tone and crackle.

If anyone out there has any ideas or any way I can test my configuration I would be very very pleased.
