Hi,

I haven't tried the link, but I just wanted to say, that I have had alot of problems with Safari and Firefox sporadically not finding a page too. I have found it to be worse in Safari though. Not sure of the problem, but as we have just bought a new modem I haven't played too much, just put up with it mostly, although sometimes I found that retrying, or restarting Safari / Firefox sometimes helps.

Hi again Peter,

I just noticed you are with bbnet (BroadBandNet)
Could be a DNS issue.

Try using OpenDNS 203.67.222.222
                              208.67.220.220

Hi Peter,

You don't say what versions of Safari & Firefox you are using.
Make sure you have installed all the latest updates for both Safari & Firefox.
And you have the latest updates for Java.

Then repair permissions:

As your problem is happening on both browsers, it is some setting or update required on your Mac.

Do you have Java & JavaScript enabled on both Browsers?
Have you tried in a different User Account?

Cheers,
Ronni

Hi Peter,
I just tried it using Safari on my iMac and it worked fine.

You have to actual do a reload of the site (right click/reload) as the temporary files on your system could be sned you the can't find the site message.

I have been regularly using the site www.woodworkforums.com for a couple of years and on Saturday I could not log on to it. I still can't logon with Safari or Firefox, but I can get any other site. I have emailed the woodwork administrator who assures me all is OK at their end, and I can access the site using the PC here which is networked to my Mac. The ISP told me to enter the DNS details into the Mac but that hasn't worked.

Any ideas??
