But during the course of using Safari I used to have a line beneath
the web address that allowed me to navigate between earlier web pages.
This line incorporated an arrow that allowed me to go back one page
at a time
Since this line disappeared I find I have to go back through Google
and start again
There must be a shorter method and I suspect I have deleted a
function that I cannot now retrieve
In Safari, goto the View Menu
You'll probably see an option that says 'Show Toolbar' select that and
you'll get your toolbar back.
If it says 'Hide Toolbar' then the toolbar is there somewhere, but no
idea where it is hiding... try hiding it and showing and see if that
fixes the problem.
Also, I recommend people Show the Status Bar... this appears at the
bottom of each window in Safari and gives you an idea of what is
happening... particularly useful on slow loading pages
