.opd is an OmniPage Document.
Document created with OmniPage scanning, OCR, and page creation software; may 
contain images, text, and page layout information; saved in a proprietary 
format that can only be opened with OmniPage or OmniPage Professional software.

OmniPage was previously developed by ScanSoft, which is now part of Nuance 
Communications.

OmniPage Pro X For Macintosh can open it, but it costs.

OpenOffice.org  "might" be able to open the file, but I don't think you will be 
able to. It's FREE.
