I believe that usually this format gets the file extension .mp4 but I doubt whether changing it will make any difference. I wonder if the bundled software can play the file? Possibly re-export it as .avi or similar? Can you get it to a Windows machine to see if it has an idea? I still suspect the file has a problem though....
