As Ronni has mentioned Spectrum Data are quite good. I've also used Elcotronics. Found them to be a bit dearer then some of the others, but have had better results with their service. They charge about $150 just to look at it then advise what it will cost. The last data recovery I got done for a client cost about $900+ Their details are here:- <http://www.elcotronics.com.au/>
Worth a go, but yes, you'll spend a bit of money to do it. I won't add to Ronni's comments about Backups,... :o) Kind regards Daniel Sent from my iPhone --- Daniel Kerr MacWizardry Phone: 0414 795 960 Email: <daniel @ macwizardry . com . au> Web: <http://www.macwizardry.com.au> **For everything Macintosh** On 1/2/11 1:24 PM, "lynn...@westnet.com.au" <lynn...@westnet.com.au> wrote: > > > hi > > > cant say this enough - *blushes at ronni* - BACK UP!!!!!!! > anyway, back to business. > > does anyone know of any good data recovery places around? ol' trusty's hard > drive has died and apple cant get data off. the disk is spinning but not > reading. > > apple is replacing hard drive, but i have about 2 to 3 years worth of emails > on old disk and next byte has suggested spectrum data at bentley. > just wondering if there may be other good places around. > > many thanks. > regards > > lynn -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- Archives - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml> Guidelines - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml> Unsubscribe - <mailto:wamug-unsubscr...@wamug.org.au>
