Hi Brian, Have you tried: Unplug the Power for 5min to your computer and drives and then restart?
The other thing that can happen is an external drive won't mount on one computer but will mount on another. If you have an application running from an external drive that automatically loads on start up. If the drive was not ejected properly(power failure etc) you can find it won’t mount on the original computer but will mount on a different Mac. Try disabling the auto start of all applications.
