I am readying an eMac for a young person and at startup it acts a bit like a PC starting, showing a black text labelled 'Darwin Kernel' and after spewing out lots of information goes on to start up the OS as normal.
Is there a setting in the system which turns this off or is it a symptom of a Kernel Panic? I don't want to give this person the machine and then have to replace it later. Any advice gratefully received.
