Hi Ken, If you don't use Mission Control, try Turning OFF the three "check mark boxes" at the top.
System Preferences > Mission Control - uncheck *Show dashboard as a space *Automatically rearrange spaces based on most recent use *When switching to an application, switch to a space with open with open windows for the application.
