For some years I have been using a very nice mouse mat, in fact a miniature persian rug from www.MouseRug.com Once in the past, when it had become unspeakably grimy and grotty y I washed it but there had been no mouse problems. Recently my mouse (Apple Magic Mouse, iMac) started to behave very erratically, principally tracking very slowly so that the rug no longer encompassed the screen by miles and it became sticky and juddery. My thought at first was a mouse problem but on switching from the rug to the wooden desktop all was back to normal speed. A good thorough wash of the mat in detergent and warm water and a brush to settle the short pile seems to have more or less but not completely restored the former state. The mat appears unmarked and in visibly as new surface condition despite a number of years of daily use. Has anyone out there used these delightful little mats and had a similar experience? I am very loath to junk and replace it but see no alternative. After years of use this seems to have been a sudden happening. Severin Crisp ____________________________________________________
