My wife is running an iMac OSX 1.8 GHz G5 power PC. She has used 69.42 GB out of 465 GB so has plenty of space. This morning while downloading a Fishpond email the machine froze. Attempts at restarting the machine failed: switching off at computer, switching off at power supply. Eventually tried a Safe Boot - success!! Ran Disk Utility - nothing serious that I could see, but I am not a code expert.
Shut down and reopended. No success. Shut down and used Safe Mode startup. Noted that with Saft Mode Startup, just before the Home page appears the fans startup but stop as home page is arrived at.
