Hi Rosemary,

If Disk Utility will not load and Repair your Drive, you have some problems
with your Sierra operating system!

If you don’t have the macOS10.12.5 Combo Updater to run over the top of your
10.12.5 system.
I would suggest you try to run the macOS 10.12.6 Combo updater and see if it
will help.

I posted to the list last week with details of:
Apple Releases macOS 10.12.6, iOS 10.3.3, watchOS 3.2.3, and tvOS 10.2.2

There was a link in that email to download the macOS 10.12.6 Combo Updater
<https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1931?locale=en_AU>… but here is the link again.

Disconnect anything connected to your MacBook Pro before you run the Combo
Updater.
Let us know your result, if you are able to install the 10.12.6 Combo and then
run Disk Utility - First Aid?

Cheers,
Ronni
