Neil, I am afraid I am at the other end of the spectrum going almost instantly 
for upgrades/dates.   Only the old iPad2 is frozen in the past and the iPhone, 
iPad4 and iMac are up with the latest.   I always had a fondness for Snow 
Leopard, it was so stable and reliable.   Hope your well backed up processes 
proceed smoothly.
