Hi Neil, thanks for your and Peter’s response to this query. In the mean time I 
have brought Jame’s TM backup up to date - last one was Feb ’20. It took an 
eternity - even on ethernet connection (around 43GB)! Whilst I understand the 
method you explain Neil (and that way using a clone might be more elegant and 
quicker), I think I will use the Migration assistant and restore from the TM 
backup. I also don’t yet have the spare hardware to use the clone method so for 
the moment that dictates the line of least resistance (and cost) for me and 
young James.
