Hi Rosemary

How do you have your Time Machine disk connected to the laptop?
Assuming it’s the machine you listed in your specs?
Do you have a hard drive connected directly to the laptop via a USB-C port? Or
is it a “normal USB” backup drive you’re using and you’re connecting it to the
laptop via some form of USB-C to “normal USB” adapter?

Which sort of drive is it? And did you try using a different hard drive
connected to the laptop to see if it will do a “new backup” to a completely
different external disk?

Unfortunately it could be a number of different things, so sometimes it’s a
matter of narrowing them down to which it could be causing the issue.

Kind regards
Daniel
