Hi John,

The thing to remember is that IOS assumes that a single person uses the device
(phone or iPad) so each person has their own Apple ID.

Apple recognises that often more than one person uses a computer but expects
that each person will have their own account – hence, as Peter says, if Julie
has her own account on the Mac(s) and uses her own Apple ID on her phone and on
her Mac account all should go smoothly.

It gets more complicated if two people use the same computer using the same
user account (ie without setting up accounts for each user) as that is not how
Apple expect you to do things!

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers

Neil

Does Julie have an account on your Mac Mini? If not, create one, then set it up
with iCloud access for her, and make sure all the iCloud services you want to
access are turned on. You then set up iCloud access on her iPhone to match.

I’m sorry this is such a cut-down explanation, but a more detailed one would
take much more time than I have at the moment. I’m sure once you get going it
will all become self-evident.

I need assistance with my wife’s recently purchased iphone 12 mini setup.

I am not totally ignorant in the use of Apple computers but iOs is another
story.

My iPhone, laptop and iPad quite happily interface with the Mac Mini desktop,
reflecting changes in calendar, Safari Bookmarks, messages, Arlo Security
Camera, etc., but we can’t get the iPhone 12 Mini to do the same.

Can someone please shed some light on this problem.

Thanks and regards
