Hi Walter. If it is formatted for Mac (journaled) I don’t think Windows will recognise it.
I have a separate external drive that is formatted for DOS to use with Windows PCs. You can use Apple Disk Utility to configure a drive for DOS if you wish. Your Mac will recognise a DOS formatted drive but not vice versa. > On 11 Jul 2022, at 4:13 pm, FW <whae...@iinet.net.au> wrote: > > I also have a question. > > Does an Apple external disc drive not normally work with a Windows system > (Windows 10) > > Cheers > Walter > > *** > >> On 11 Jul 2022, at 13:50 , Peter Faulks <peterfau...@westnet.com.au> wrote: >> >> Generally you may only need a DVD CD Player to upload your files >> >> I purchased an Apple DVD CD attachment plugs into my lap top >> >> happy to lend it to you but would need it back once you copied your movies, >> data or music >> >> If you want something permanent the Apple one works fine. >> >> >> Peter Faulks >> >> On 11/07/2022 1:30 PM Jul 22, Anthony (Tony) Francis wrote: >>> Good Afternoon Everyone >>> >>> Hoping all are well, it’s been a while. >>> >>> Ok, I have a question, now that the Computers are no longer fitted with a >>> Disc Drive, and I have so many Discs with Photo's on them, is there a Disc >>> attachment that I need to purchase and if so is there one that the group >>> would suggest / recommend? >>> >>> Thank You >>> >>> Kind Regards >>> >>> Tony >>> Boddington. >>> -- The WA Macintosh User Group Mailing List -- >>> Archives - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/archives.shtml> >>> Guidelines - <http://www.wamug.org.au/mailinglist/guidelines.shtml> >>> Settings & Unsubscribe - >>> <http://lists.wamug.org.au/listinfo/wamug.org.au-wamug> >> >> >> -- >> Peter J Faulks >> BA Soc.
