Senior Iranian officials' children banned from studying abroad
Tehran Times Political Desk

TEHRAN -- MP Karim Abedi has said that a directive has been issued that
prohibits the children of senior Iranian officials from studying at
universities in foreign countries.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has informed Iranian ambassadors abroad to
take the actions necessary to prevent the children of Iranian officials from
studying at foreign universities," Abedi, who is a member of the Majlis
National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, stated on Friday.

The Foreign Ministry has also advised senior Iranian officials not to send
their children to study at foreign universities, particularly universities in
Britain, he said.

The Iranian Ministry of Education has been tasked with facilitating the
continuation of the studies of the children of senior officials who had been
studying in foreign countries, he added.
