You wandered pretty far afield there, my friend. You had said the income
tax is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. I replied that it is clearly and definitely
provided for IN THE CONSTITUTION ITSELF! So, while you and I can agree
that the income tax is a lousy thing and one we might like to abolish,
there is no possibility that it is unconstitutional. Words have to be
used with some care or communication becomes impossible. If you mean to
say that something stinks in your opinion that's fine. That's your
oinion. I share the opinion about the income tax as it is currently
written and enforced. But to try to spread the incorrect notion that it
is also unconstitutional is not helpful to meaningful political
discourse. The are some crazy books and groups pushing the idea. At
least fellow among them has already been convicted of tax evasion. Let's
not lead any other suckers astray.
