Good question, not to mention all the other mac related stuff that
seems totally unnecessary.
I purpose we drop all mac stuff that isn't the main project files, and
just have a dev package like all the other build systems have.
This is extra noise for no real purpose.  Why should we care if lib X
got updated to a new version, this should ALL be in the dev package.

One the same subject, I also think we should nuke the .gitattributes
file that specify some mac only files.  It just makes merges much more
painful for no real purpose besides to annoy the person who is doing
the merges.
If those files can't be handled gracefully by the normal git merge
routines, they must be edited anyway, and since there is only one
person that can fix those issues, I see no reason at all to block git
from attempting to merge it in the first place.
