Thanks everyone for reporting this issue. The Google Wave API developers have investigated the problem and found that the last version of the Google Gadget Server introduced a bug in the Wave Gadget feature. The basic manifestation of the bug is that the gadgets see a blank state instead of the real state sent by the Wave Gadget container. Only the gadgets that use the state delta parameter in the callback and do not rely on fetching the state by other methods work correctly.
We have a fix but I don't know how quickly we can deploy it. I will report back when I know more.
