In wireshark I do not see a timeout. I do however see my server trying to access port 5269 on one of the A records resolved from wavesandbox.com. After that it resolves the SRV record for _xmpp- server._tcp.wave.sandbox.com and it tries to connect to port 5268 of one of the resulting xmpp-serverX.l.google.com servers.
