Yes, pretty sure Andy and Don and probably most of them smoked back then. Also have read that Andy and some of the others were pretty good drinkers in their time. ( Never have heard that about Don though. ) It was a tv show and they weren't perfect. Yes, Aunt Bee and Andy didn't get along well in real life. More her aloofness than anything else I think. Would be interested to know if Mr. Schwamp has been seen in any other shows.
