Apparently some folks misunderstood my earlier message, in which I said Gomer went off to join "The United States Marine Corpse." I have nothing but the HIGHEST respect and admiration for the United States military, I was not trying to be insulting. Both Gomer and Andy pronounced it "corpse" on the show (TAGS episode 127: Gomer Pyle USMC, scene 1). I was merely repeating dialogue from the show, I meant no disrespect to our brave men and women in uniform.
