<Don't forget that Old Man Rimshaw was supposed to have killed his hired man with an axe.>
Kenneth's post reminded me of something I have sometimes wondered about. Having grown up in the mountains of NC we often refer to someone as Old Man such and such. However, not all older gentlemen are afforded "Old Man" status. Most are relegated to being simply Mr. such and such. How does one get to claim the title "Old Man"? BTW, I don't consider it derogatory at all. More a sign of respect if you will. Along this line, I can think of three gentlemen on TAGS who were referred to as "Old Man". Interestingly, none of these three were ever seen on camera. The ones I can think of right off hand are Old Man Rimshaw, Old Man Perkins, and of course Old Man Kelsey. I am sure that there are probably more. Anyone know of any? Hoping someday to be, Old Man Doug Johnson _________________________________________________________________ http://im.live.com/messenger/im/home/?source=hmtextlinkjuly07 _______________________________________________ WBMUTBB mailing list [email protected] http://wbmutbb.com/mailman/listinfo/wbmutbb_wbmutbb.com http://www.mayberry.com/tagsrwc/wbmutbb/
