I agree with both Paul and Joe (The Untrained Voice) about Thelma Lou's job. I am of the opinion that she worked for Ed Jenkins, the insurance agent. Many moons ago, I worked as office manager for an insurance agent. So Thel and I share a common occupation, in addition to our naturally red hair!
