Wow, this was a great Christmas as I got the final season of Andy and the first season of Gomer Pyle USMC.
I was like a lot of others for a long time, I did not care that much for the color episodes and Andy, but over time I began to realy cherish even them! Now espcially with the DVD's, I like them even better. I only wish they would have included some commentary by the actors with some of the episodes. Season # of Gomer Pyle is great! The commentary and extra features make this one a bonus. Just like Andy, the initail seasons being in black and white are pricesless. As a former Marine, I can really appreciate this program. It is more true to life than anyone can really imagine. They did a great job of protraying life in the Marine Corps, The only other person that could have done Sgt Carter any better would have been the former DI from Mail Call ! The attention to detail as far as the uniforms and military bearing are immculate. As for Gomer, yes, there were many Gomers in the Marine Corps. Truely a great show.
