I read in today's paper that on this date in 1897 the Katzenjammer Kids comic strip made its debut in the New York Journal. It always brings a smile to my face when I notice an intersection of "real life" and TAGS. Of course, the mention of the KK didn't bring a smile to the face of Deputy Fife or Inspector Case.
