>>>There are least 4 other occasions when a wedding was planned that was not to
>>>be in a church. None of them took place, Can you name them?<<<

Well, one that immediately comes to mind is when Howard and Millie traveled by
train to Millie's home town to be married but then decided during the trip that
they weren't suited for each other.

Hmmm...As for the others, Jeff Pruitt planned to marry Thelma Lou, but that was
a one-sided proposition! Aunt Bee reluctantly agreed (temporarily) to marry
Fred Goss because she thought that's what Andy wanted. Then, of course,
Briscoe Darling wanted to marry Aunt Bee until she and Andy used some
psychology to get him to abandon the idea. Charlene Darling wanted to marry
Andy after she left Dud. Roger Hanover "threatened" to marry Aunt Bee unless
Andy forked over some money, but Andy outfoxed him. The Darlings wanted Opie
to marry little Andelina, albeit far into the future. Cousin Gloria made up
with Frank, to whom she had been engaged, so we assume they got married
somewhere after that. Ernest T. and Ramona planned to marry, but he needed to
scrape together some funds first, and then Ramona insisted that he needed to
acquire some education before she could go through with it. Mrs. Mendlebright
and Mr. Fields were going to leave Mayberry to get married until she discovered
he was really a con man. Are you thinking of any of these, Joe?

>>>Also there was one more wedding that did take place--and this one may have
>>>actually been in a church--I need to find my tape and check. The name of
>>>the episode is a dead give-away. Who got married in that one?<<<

The wedding that did take place -- are you referring to when Howard's mother
got married and moved away?

Thelma Lou
(Janet)
