All this talk about the lunch counter is making me hungry. I wish they
still had those. I remember them in Walgreen's, Woolworth's, and just about
any other drug or dime store worth its salt.

I've been thinkin' about all that, though. I believe Otis and Barney refer
to the "Lunchroom," not the "Lunch Counter." A lunch counter would seem to
be in a dime store or drug store, but the "Lunchroom" sounds like a
cafeteria-style restaurant which is open for lunch--catering to the working
folks. It's been a while since I watched that episode, so I could be wrong.

Also, I looooove the Paramount DVD sets. I have noticed one thing,
though--weren't there several opening sequences filmed in black and white?
>From watching the show on TV, I think I remember Opie growing up a little
every year. Paramount has used the same opening (with the littlest Opie)
for all the black and white episodes.

Just thinkin' and noticin' (although I'm not a trained noticer yet!).
