I was watching "Goodbye Sheriff Taylor" episode last night on TV Land, and Burt Mustin played Jud. I believe he was in 11 episodes of TAGS, mostly as Jud. His contributions are not often mentioned, certainly they are overshadowed, but he had his funny moments. In last night's episode, he was one of Barney's "finalists" to become deputy. He has a very funny line that he managed to get off with perfect timing: Otis is complaining about Barney throwing a tomato at him, and Jud replies "I wish he would throw something at me! I haven't had my lunch yet." It's another example of the gentle humor that makes TAGS so wonderful. I also recall Mustin in episodes of Mary Tyler Moore, Dragnet, All in the Family.
