Is it really true that nobody know who the actor was who portrayed Mr. Schwump? It seems there should be "extras" pay records archived somewhere. It sure would be a treat to hear from Mayberry's most famous extra. Besides his many appearances in TAGS, I believe I caught a glimpse of him and his bad toupee in two Gomer Pyle USMC episodes. Sure is funny how "Ol Man Schwump" made it from N.C. to Southern California! Maybe he just wanted to stay close to his buddy Gomer!
