Hi I think that Blue -Ray DVD is comparable to HD DVD (High Definition DVD) but not the same format however. A different type of player. I'm thinking that Blue -Ray DVD players and HD DVD players will play regular DVD's, I hope, is this what the following is trying to say? I found this explanation while searching the Internet: Both Blu-ray and HD DVD players play and upconvert normal DVDs to a pseudo-HD (technically HD resolution, but less detail than true HD disks).
