Have you ever been watching our favorite show, and thought that you had seen the episode before, but something was a little different. That guy with the PPD (Doctor of Physic Phenomena) will call this déjà vu. Barney would call it DEE-Jay Voo.
Like When you watch the Episode with Newton Monroe and at the start Barney is sitting in Andy's front porch, and says something link--I think I'll go home take a nap, watch a little TV, and he repeats it...and you say, hey didn't Mr. Tucker tell him to just do it?? Or in The episode where Mayberry honors a "Guest of Honor", who happens to be a shoplifter (also happens to look a lot like Neil Bentley) Barney has three Special deputies lined up in the Courthouse, and he calls then out by Badge number as he gives them orders--and you ask...hey when does the tomato come?...but you notice the three deputies are totally different people than Goober Jud and Otis? Yes this is Mayberry déjà vu. When else have you seen it? Barney trying to recite the duties of a Deputy...and you go , Hey wait should this start with "We the People" instead of "An officer of the Law?" Not that there is anything wrong with this. It was just a case of the writers remembering a successful scene, and repeating it with some modifications, perhaps to make it even better...but what cases have you noticed of Mayberry Déjà Vu??? And did you feel like chanting an incant?? Or a poem to remove a hex? Hey Did I write this before??? What year is this?
