I truly enjoyed the post by WelfordtheCameraNut. Unless one actually grew
up in a small town one cannot really appreciated the experience.
We didn't have a movie theater in our small town but in the summer on Friday
nights there were free outdoor movies. Friday night was the
night when the stores were all open so the farmers would come to town and do
their weekly banking and shopping. The movies were shown
up against the feedstore building's outside wall. Parents would drop their
kids off while doing their shopping. Of course we would have to
bring out own goodies to munch on and the seats were the good old ground.
Not very fancy but we enjoyed many antics of Abbot and Costello
during those long lazy summer days in Wisconsin.
