Curiouser and curiouser! The sheet music I have is hand-written, in pencil,
by Earle Hagen's very own hand, and it's in the key of B flat! He very kindly
did this for me in 1998, and I have it framed with a picture and Andy and Opie
with their fishing poles, and it's proudly displayed above my old upright
piano.

But that's not the key used on The Show, at least not during the credits. Maybe
there's some episode with the theme playing in the background in B flat, I've
never checked.

And as I said earlier, the correct original title is "The Andy Griffith
Theme."  Is it not "The Andy Griffith Show Theme" as some seem to think. The
version with lyrics (penned later, by Everett "Jubal Jubal Jubal" Sloane) is
entitled "The Fishin' Hole."
