I was watching "Barney's Physical" last night where it is decided that
the Sheriffs and deputies have to maintain a certain weight and height.
In the first part of the episode, they are having celebration for Barney
being with the Sheriff's department for five years. When Thelma Lou is
leaving the party, she and Barney share a very nice kiss ("flat on the
mouth" - like when Andy told the story of Romeo and Juliet to Opie) at
the door.
