Warning From Warren :Funny bits in the tree and the classic lake incident , trying to warn Andy of inpending danger. nothing special but enjoyable.The Cannon a good one. Mans Best Friend aka The Talking Dog, the less said the better.you all know how i feel about that kid who pulled that hoax on poor Goober. Lets move on.Aunt Bee Takes a Job well for me its a stroll down memory lane talking in 1971 with Herbie Faye (who again had nothing but high praise for Andy Griffith) and Milton Berle tv stooge, Milton Frome who told me what fun it was working with TAGS but confided more kids today (1971) knew him from only one thing, The Adventures of Superman where Milt played nothing but the heavy in some shows. Girl Shy with Warren and Helen , i always noted the unique realistic camera work of Anita Corsaut behind the celldoors looking out as Andy grills Warren. The camera angle is superb giving us a new view of the Mayberry courthouse. Finally The Church Organ . This is the episode folks we see Mr. Schwamp with his glasses on in the church. a new birds eye view (no pun intended) of him . but the overhead remains the same, lastly: In Church Organ has anyone noticed (Im sure you have) Floyd actually raising up from a sitting position in the pew to a full stance. yes his left arm paralyzed is evident, bent as always the poor soul, but this gifted actor Allan shows when push comes to shove even he gingerly can get out of a chair or pew ,he just couldnt walk on his own accord. but the effort made to raise is beautrifully photographed and subtly behind standing actors but he stood up allright. good job Howard. were all proud of you. Someone here Allan asked me about Mr. 880 a 1950 film with Dick Ryan in it, Mayberrys stationmaster. well it was on this morning on TCM , hes the baliff who escorts Edmund Gwynne off to jail,at the end. Dick can seen in Strangers on A Train in the very last scene as a minister asking for a lighter from Farley Granger. Thats it . Monday night repeats then Tuesday more shows.
