I was in a party store recently with my darling person (I scanned the
boxes for ideas for parties so I could be a good idea man like Barney).
They had a baby name book.
Name included "Goober"
Names not Included: Gomer or Opie.
I was shocked. As this groups has pointed out there was Gomer ( a
woman) in the Bible..and who wouldn't want to name their kid after a
role-model red-head?
I too missed the conference call. My typical work day is full or
conference calls, but this would have been a nice change. I guess I'm
going to have bring my work into the courthouse so I did not forget next
time.
A Local Station here in Indianapolis (WXIN) has broadcast TAGS for years
at noon. This year I got a rude awakening one of the rare days I can
slip away from work at lunch to watch...they took it off. I have the
whole DVD set, but there is still something special about watching it
live knowing that there are others watching, even though they edit out
parts for commercial time. (they replaced it for now with another
brainless talk show). I do get TVland so I'm thankful for the ones the
air. They (WXIN) always had an Andy episode and then a Lucy.. and then
Matlock. Ironically Matlock is still on at 1:00, so if I need a real
Andy fix I guess I can take a late lunch and catch a glimpse of Ben.
I have great memories of my Dad coming home from work for lunch and
watching Andy Griffith. I hope they bring it back. Maybe I'd better
write a Lawyer letter and threaten to blacklist them. I'm not trying
to start a moulage here, just sharing my sad news.
Happy 2010 to all. Congrats Mr. Newsome and other Charter members on
the 5,000 edition of the Digest. We should put on a Founders day
celebration for you. Is Jan playing Lady Mayberry of will that be Mary
Clark???
